However as we embark on a new vision, we must recapture the sense of fun and adventure with which we began our journey in the first place.

The Major Arcana ~
Journey to Enlightenment ~
Tarot Exercise ~
Tarot Pathworking ~
I begin each Tarot Card Reading by creating a sacred space. When you mix the cards and focus on receiving guidance, you magnetize the specific energy of those cards that are attracted to your question. The threads of energy become integrated like the interlocking pieces of a puzzle and create the powerful message that your Higher Self wants you to hear.
Keep in mind that the purpose of a Tarot Card Reading is to bring clarity and direction into your daily life. Try not to wait until a crisis arises before you schedule your next reading. It is easier to maintain a sense of balance and equilibrium if you are aware of the subtle changes in and around your aural field. Therefore, I personally recommend a Tarot Card Reading at least once every six months.
Arcana ~ from the Latin arcanum, meaning a profound mystery or secret, the Universal archetypes that compose the Major Arcana of the Tarot whisper The Song of Truth.

Each of the 22 cards of the Major Arcana is a key that opens a Gateway to our Higher Self. Through these archetypal images, we can gain a deep and rich understanding of the human psyche. We can also learn more about the spiritual connection between others and ourselves.
The ultimate goal is to surrender the ego and acknowledge the Oneness of all life. I view the ego as that part of ourselves that prevents us from fully experiencing life. Ego is defined by separation and is often expressed through anger, fear, insecurity, resentment or jealousy. In reality, ego is an illusion that distracts us and lures us away from our spiritual path.
Thus, each journey through the archetypal figures of the Tarot guides us closer to enlightenment. The lesson is Universal - to love and accept one another unconditionally. In this manner, the wise one makes choices based on what is best for the whole of humanity with little or no regard to individual will or desire.
Here is a simple monthly Tarot exercise that can be meaningful to both the beginner and the advanced student of Tarotology. Withdraw the 22 Major Arcana cards from your personal Tarot deck. Gently shuffle and cut the major deck. Next, turn over the top card and follow the guidance of your chosen card. To facilitate this exercise, I have included a brief but essential interpretation and lesson for each Major Arcana card.
Use a journal to record the meaning of your selected Tarot card. Be sure to include the date for each journal entry. Then, answer the following questions: What is my spiritual lesson for this month? How does Tarot wisdom work to enrich my life and my relationships with others? What are the obstacles that might prevent me from fully accepting the wisdom of the Tarot key? It is important to be completely nonjudgmental when interpreting any Tarot Card Reading.
Please note: This exercise is for personal awareness only. Consult an experienced Tarotologist before making any major decisions.
Origin of Pathworking ~ Poets and philosophers, astronomers, priests and priestesses have contemplated the esoteric meaning of life since the first moment of consciousness. Hidden deep within religious texts, songs and oral traditions are similar accounts of our rich, primordial beginnings. While the ancient mythologies of Egypt, Greece and Rome form the basis of the Judaic Christian tradition, quite similar legends are rooted in cultures and religions native to nations, tribes, civilizations and sacred sites around the globe. We are ALL ONE family who share a humble, yet noble story. Through our remembrance of this bond, we honor the spiritual link between all faiths and fully acknowledge our perfect union with Spirit. Thus, the origin of Pathworking lies within our cosmic memory, and as such, it becomes the lifeline of the human experience.

Understanding the Connection ~ Tarot is a universal language. The four suits of the Minor Arcana correspond to the four elements (fire, wands; water, cups; air, swords; earth, pentacles), the four seasons and the four directions. These are all sacred points in the natural world. Likewise, the archetypal figures we encounter in the Major Arcana are representative of significant teachers whose paths cross ours on a daily basis. Think of the Tarot card as a key. The position of the card in the spread represents a door or a gateway into the symbolic lesson of the card. Through the Tarot keys, we access the energy of the card and literally reveal the power hidden within. We can then bring the mystery of life into the light of day, rediscover our potential, explore our life path, and develop our skills and abilities with focus and intention. As we fully own our life purpose, we reconnect with our Source. In this manner, the wisdom of the Tarot enhances and enriches all religions, philosophies and belief systems.

Tree of Life ~ In Qabalah, The Tree of Life consists of 22 paths which correspond to the 22 Tarot keys of the Major Arcana. The paths connect and become The Tree as we journey from one point to the next, opening gateways along the way. When we focus on a specific Tarot key and truly work with the wisdom of the key, the experience of the Tarot Card Reading becomes much more than a lighthearted amusement or an intellectual exercise. Instead, the goal of the Tarot seeker is always to gain wisdom and inner peace, to create forgiveness in our personal relationships and to learn to be more loving, accepting and kind. Often it can be a struggle to overcome the desires and the resistance of the ego, but the beauty of the effort gives life its awe-inspiring majesty as we calm the dark forces of fear and create true meaning in our lives. This is the passion of poetry, art and music. This is Tarot Pathworking.
Words have power. Like prayer, chanting or a mantra in meditation, the sound of Tarot's universal language, spoken out loud in the form of an affirmation, can create very real and positive change. Moreover, by daily affirming the truth of a Tarot key, we can strengthen or confirm the insights of the Tarot message. Therefore, the affirmation is the facilitator which reawakens our cosmic memory and guides our psyche to accept this wisdom with every cell of our being. In this manner, we can more fully unify sacred knowledge with ordinary experience.
Always keep in mind that the Tarot Card Reading expresses understanding and knowledge acquired directly from our Higher Self. When we cite an affirmation, it is important to recognize that we are making a solemn vow to our Self. Therefore, we must be open and truly listen to the words that we are speaking.
